The illustrator did more than simply draw what I described. They asked questions about the characters and settings and helped me think about how the illustrations should support the story. We started with sketches, which allowed me to make changes early. One scene needed to be simplified because there was too much happening on the page. The final version works much better.

I wasn’t sure whether my novel needed another edit or a much larger rewrite. The manuscript evaluation helped answer that question. The reviewer looked at structure, pacing, characters, and plot and identified the areas that were holding the story back. I appreciated the way the major concerns were prioritized, because I could focus on them instead of trying to fix everything at once.

The production team gave me several narrator samples and asked about the tone I wanted before we made a choice. I appreciated being able to review an early recording and comment on pronunciation and pacing. A couple of passages had to be rerecorded, which delayed the final delivery slightly. The finished narration, however, feels natural and restrained. It suits the story well and sounds close to the way I imagined the characters when writing them.

I had reached the point where I was making random changes to my novel because I couldn’t tell what actually needed fixing. The manuscript evaluation gave me a clearer picture of the story’s strengths and weaknesses. The reviewer discussed pacing, character development, structure, and areas where the plot became less engaging. I especially liked the prioritization of the feedback because it showed me what to tackle first.

The schedule slipped slightly beyond the original estimate, but communication remained consistent from beginning to end. The finished book looked colorful, sturdy, and ready for young readers to enjoy.
